About Luisa Valmori-Sen

Luisa was born in Florence where she won a scholarship to study piano, composition, harmony and counterpoint at the L. Cherubini Conservatoire. There she obtained her teaching diploma and furthered her studies under Rossana Bottai. She was tutored by Carlo Zecchi at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and by Alfred Cortot at the Chigiana Music Academy in Sienna.

Luisa has taught the piano in schools and given concerts around Italy and the UK as well as for broadcast on Italian radio (RAI). A critic wrote after her concert for Amici della Musica in Rome, “Luisa has demonstrated her subtleties and imaginative interpretation by her delicate touch, mature technique and an outstanding musicianship...”.

Luisa has won several competitions and is an experienced performer as well as an accompanist. She has taken part in masterclasses given by performers such as Edith Vogel, Gordon-Fergus Thompson and Paul Roberts.

In recent years Luisa has been on the jury of the EPTA National Piano Festival in Tirana, Albania and given masterclasses and recitals in India and Italy. At present Luisa is engaged in preparing pupils for exams, festivals and playing in concerts.
